A1C was 5.6 today - and I have type 1!

Yes! This is true. Thank you. It seems I struggle more than many Type ones. I feel encouraged.

hi @HighHopes congrats! believe me, no one is awesome at controlling blood sugar, we all struggle from time to time. Just looking and I see 39-248 on my clarity min/max report, so I cannot claim to have a perfect track record. In fact Im struggling with a 180 that will not go down after a pump set change right now! Anyway, the goal isn’t perfection here and I am a true believer that “flat or stable” blood sugars simply cannot be sustained. I used to use a1c as a measure of my control but a1c rewards lows. Lows can be tough and dangerous. I really like the CGM TIR (Time in range) as a more comprehensive control parameter to shoot for. My a1c has gone up a few tenths in fact, but I like to strive for the “less than 1%” for time in a severe low and an overall less than 10% above 170 for the same time period as good goals for me. As always, you have to do what’s right for you!

Keep up the great work!

Thank you. I agree about time in range. I look at it a lot. A friend of mine said that I am obsessed with my pump/cgm……HA! Lol. My pump is pretty good at keeping me from lows. Of course, everyday brings surprises.
