My daughter hasn’t slept well in the last 5 years due to the nightly care of my T1D grandson. She has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and subsequent swollen ankles and feet. Her diet is what she can grab in between finger pricks and and dosing for him. I’m so worried about her health. Is there anyone or an agency she could contact for some reprieve?

Thank you,

Grandma

Hi @Gino0229. I found this organization online - it might be a place to start. Where is your daughter located?

She lives in the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Every BreakthroughT1D event I’ve gone to I have met parents that are willing to talk about their successes and commiserate about how hard it is. Google says it is 30m by car or 45m by bus from her neighborhood.

CGMs can make diabetes easier. Tell me about why they’re still doing finger sticks.
