Hello. My 23 year old has T1D since age 11. The past year he has developed neuropathy in his legs. Read that 30% of people with T1D get neuropathy. Need your input on what works best to alleviate the pain. Gabapentin and Lyrica had terrible side effects with fatigue and weight gain. We have an upcoming neurologist appointment to discuss a blended compounded topical treatment thru a pharmacist to include AI recommendations
Will be discussing this option with the neurologist. It is my understanding that topical gabapentin does not carry the side effects that oral gabapentin does.
