I’m using T:Slim X2, Control-IQ v7.7. I’ve studied the User Guide from front to back & understand it all. I’ve had the Air Liquide training with my endo present. I entered Personal Profile details that matched what I was using on the previous pump (Omnipod DASH). Control-IQ has been active from the start and I’ve been refining time segment details daily based on the X2’s record of theprevious BG readings. Things have improved steadily including my time in range. BUT my glucose readings constantly stabilise around 8mmol/L rather than 5mmol/L: they’re “in range” but I’d rather have them stabilise nearer to 5mmol/L. How can I manage this?
Hi @BrianLittlewood welcome to Breakthrough T1D.
you can’t change the CIQ targets directly. here are the NOT ADJUSTABLE settings of CIQ
what many of us do as a “work around” is to use “Sleep” as the target is lower than the CIQ standard or “Activity” modes. YOu do not have the opportunity to set anything to stabilize at 5.5 as it is considered “too low” for CIQ.
@BrianLittlewood Hi Brian, and welcome to the Breakthrough T1D Community Frum! I use newer software than you: 7.9.0.1, but target goals are the same ar your 7.7.
As you can see from the table @Joe posted, you are looking for something the Tandem is not designed to deliver. And you should be very thankful that you are unable to reach your goal of 5.0 mmol/L. An extended time average of 5.0 would indicate a glycosylation rate of 4.7% which is considered “dangerous” even for a person who does not have diabetes; Glycosylation rate is currently measured by a laboratory protocol called HbA1c.
Rather than setting a goal of 5.0 for yourself, may I suggest that you aim for something more reasonable such as an average over time of 6.2-6.7 which would yield an admirable glycosylation rate between 5.5% and 5.9%.
