Waking up hungry shortly after going to bed

For the past two months or so, I’ve had a frequent episodes (once or twice a week) in which I go to bed and fall asleep feeling full (usually after eating a spoonful of peanut butter), then wake up feeling hungry within an hour and feel like I need to eat protein to become full again. This often results in overeating and blood sugar spikes. Anyone ever had this happen and any advice?

Hi @thrilliam59 . How are your numbers when you wake up - are you eating because you’re low and need something to eat, or are you just hungry and want to “take the edge off”? If it’s just hunger alone you could try to ignore it and go back to sleep; but if you do eat something you may need some insulin to cover the snack.
