Was debating on whether or not to post this, mainly because it seems to good to be true.
It is real news that Novo Nordisk has just bought a patent for an insulin developed by a post doc student.
The insulin is unique to the field because of the way it delivers glucose to the body.
Firstly , after injection into ( mice only at this point) the body it searches for glucose in the blood, then, for want of a better term, it encapulates it, thereby stopping it from attaching to red blood cells.
Next it finds cells in need of glucose and the insulin receptor of the cell opens thereby getting the glucose into the cell.
NNC2215 is what it’s called at this point. There has to be something to it because they paid $2 billion for it.
The sweetness of it is that you can’t overdose on it, it just floats around your bloodstream until it has something to do.
They claim it will do away with pumps and monitors and the like because of the way it integrates with the body’s natural functions.
