Dexcom G7 app crashing on Android

I’m running Dexcom G7 on Android 14 on a Google Pixel 8A phone and the App keeps crashing. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem? The issue is sporadic and hence difficult to resolve (typically seems to happen once per sensor - so once every 10 days). When it crashes, I get the message “App Stopped Working” and needs to be “Reset”. I then have to re-login into the G7 app and re-initialise the sensor connection. Is infuriating and on several occasions, I have had my BGL readings “pause” reporting an incorrect BGL reading which is dangerous. AMSL support appear unwilling to really help - repeatedly push me back to very basic troubleshooting and tell me to just wait for an app update (which never seems to come). I raised this issue 3 months ago now and have had no resolution. Appreciate any support, thoughts or solutions.

I don’t know what AMSL happens to be; I suggest that you contact Dexcom Technical Support.

Is your Pixel 8A your primary receiver? I’ve been using the G7 since its release and haven’t had “a disconnect” issue on two different Samsubg phones so I’m thinking the issue you are experiencing may have something to do with a software update on your Google. With whom did you raise the issue 3 months ago?

AMSL is the Dexccom distributor in Australia, they are a subsidiary of Dexccom, so yes I have raised the issue with the official Dexccom technical support channel

Your phone and os seem to be compatible, android has app background killers so there might be android specific settings so the os or 3rd party app battery optimizers never kills processes, other than that I got nothing. I’ve personally been using g7 on apple flawlessly since g7 was first available. Dexcom offers a dedicated receiver which is a pain but would fix the intermittent app crash issue. Good luck!:shamrock::peace_symbol:
