hi, as folks may know Tandem recently retired the T-connect pump data upload tool and replaced it with the One Source (OS) platform. Using OS for the first time today, we find that one of the useful features from t-connect has gone away. This feature was on the the graph of blood glucose vs time. It was possible to adjust the setting for the y-axis (blood glucose axis) and evaluate your time in range against values that you defined. For example, you could look at your time in range vs. their default setpoints of 70-180; or you could tighten up a bit and look at your time in range, for example, in a band between 70-150, or any other pair of values that you liked.
In speaking with Tandem, their workaround is to use the t-connect app on a smart phone, but then one is looking at the data on a 3-inch screen and I don’t use the t-connect app anyway. Has anyone else come across this deficit (I think it’s a deficit) on the OS platform and figured out a workaround ? Meaning, a way to put in user-defined values for the lower and upper blood sugar values ?
@RMcM, yes, Tandem Source has been available since the beginning of the year; when entering “Portal”, users were automatically moved to Source - logging on to the former Tandem Portal is now dead-end. The big news now is that Tandem is no longer supporting older utilities - every registered Tandem user recently received that information e-mail.
I have written here and on T1D Exchange talking about the most complete and usable gathering of management data is the “Timeline Report” on Tandem Source.
As for Range of BGM/CGM, for years my Tandem infusion pump range has been 75 - 165 mg/dl, and my Dexcom Clarity, especially the “Night” option has had an even tighter range than Tandem.
Hi @RMcM not a workaround for tandem, but you can program your ideal ranges into Dexcom Clarity and run reports from there. In my opinion, Clarity is pretty good.
Here’s the “daytime” range settings for example.
You’re welcome! You aren’t the only one, many people were surprised by the Source transition and disappointed by the loss of the TIR customization.
@joe has a good suggestion. He included a phone screenshot but Clarity is available on the desktop, https://clarity.dexcom.com. For Libre data use https://www.libreview.com/ Joe, have you ever tried doing a data export from Tandem and throwing it into a data viz tool at work like Tableau? The default reports from Omnipod are just as barely good enough as Tandem’s so a template people could use to generate their own reports while retaining ownership of their data would be handy for the community.
Hi Chris. No I have not. I am not aware I can export from Source but it is an interesting question. If we can get the data, then there are many tools, we use “mini tab” at work.
hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to reply to my question on customizing the high and low values for the time in range calcs. I likely will give the Clarity product a look.
