Hello! I have received an engineering summer research grant and I am conducting research to design and prototype a new mount for the Tandem Insulin Pump (t:slim X2).
One of my close friends has type one diabetes and uses a Tandem Insulin Pump (t:slim X2). She has been able to give me insight on what she struggles with when it comes to the flexibility of placing her infusion sets due to what she uses to mount her insulin pump; she’s expressed her concerns about Tandem’s recommended clip case, and how she isn’t able to move her insulin pump to other possible infusion site areas (i.e closer to her sternum, so its easier to access).
I would love to have a conversation about individual experiences regarding insulin pumps with tubing to gain a better understanding of the issues with the current solutions in order to implement it into my design.
