From the BreakthroughT1D Pipeline
Dexcom unveiled its next-generation CGM, the G8, which will be 50% smaller than the G7 and have advanced sensing capabilities that will allow it to adapt to each user.
Dexcom laid out their product roadmap in their investor day presentation. The G8 is on pages 28 and 29. This is the second time they’ve said the G8 hardware platform is built to allow the addition of ketone sensing later in the G8 product lifecycle. ETA for the G8 is late 2027, wide US availability in 2028.
Personally I was filled with joy at page 34 that says Dexcom expects medicare to cover CGMs for all people with diabetes in 2027. CGMs made life with T1D so much better for me I’m glad progress is being made at making them affordable for lots more people.
