Libre 3 Failures

I also have Android (Samsung S22+) and am having problems with Libre3. I had very few problems with generations 1 or 2 over 5+ years. When I did they were solved with removal of the sensor, placement of new sensor and receiving a no charge replacement sensor from pharmacy/manufacturer. If I did not have an immediately available replacement at home, a short drive to pharmacy was the only major obstacle. Although this was a seldomly occurring problem, it certainly could have been catastrophic under certain circumstances. Back up plans such as extra sensors or finger stick options are a must and could be potentially life saving.
I have had Libre3 for 12 days now. I have already experienced more problems in 12 days than with Libre1 and 2 combined for 5+ years. So far I have fixed the failures with either rescanning in 10 minutes (another potentially life threatening scenario) or rebooting my phone. I foresee lawsuits in the future regarding these problems. The product and its related app are faulty and need to be fixed. One more time-there are catastrophic events wating to happen.

Mark @Todd1961, I’m sorry to hear of your recent difficulties that you experienced enjoying the convenience of your Libre devices. Could it be that the particular selection you have chosen is not the best fit for you; I don’t see any “promise” from Abbott that any of its products will work well for everyone. Perhaps a different monitor would work better for you.

As far as being “catastrophic”? It appears to me as if you are attempting to frighten PwD. About the only cares trophic event I can imagine might be is to be lost in the wilderness with a destroyed needle or last vial of insulin smashed on the rocks; everything else is minor in comparison. Think of how the many active Members of the Forum survived when “normal” life meant possibly one or two blood sugar readings per year and, a hospital blood sugar test took two days to process.

Hi @Todd1961 and welcome to the forum. Would you mind sharing the specific problems you’ve been having with the Libre3? Rebooting your phone helped so it sounds like a network issue of some sort. I have an iPhone (and Dexcom G7) and when my phone is acting “buggy” I reset my network settings - Apple support recommended it to me once and I find it clears things up and out. I don’t know if that is the same process as rebooting that you reference but it is quick and aside from having to re-enter my wifi password I don’t lose anything except the problem I was having.
