My name is David, T1 since 16 (35 now), OP5/Dex g6 user.
Father of 2 BEAUTIFUL girls, married since '14, former foster parent.
Looking for some hopefully IRL diabetics to meet in my area. I’ve looked, but have not seen a wild T1 other than in the mirror. I live in Volusia county FL. kind of close to Orlando (abt30 min NW). I enjoy the outdoors more than anything, play retro games on my pc (doom II mainly). Fishing, mountain biking, softball, and on occasion when i can i like hunting. Family is and always will be my 1st priority, even above myself.
Hello @Dsg2387 welcome to Type One Nation. Good to meet you. There are close to 25,000 registered participants here so I hope you find some close to where you live. It’s rare for me to see other T1’s in the wild so don’t feel too bad. There is a resource tab at the top of the page and it leads to the JDRF local chapter locations. There may be a chapter near you if you find a JDRF fundraiser (usually a walk or ride) there will be plenty of T1’s there. Anyway I hope you enjoy the forum and hope to see you around.

Hey David! I’m always down to connect. I’m 35 too, just married and looking to start our family. T1D since age 9, use Medtronic. I used to work in foster care and we currently support a kid in care right now with respite.
